Catastrophe Modeling

Title :  Catastrophe Modeling


Experience :- 2 - 8 years.
Location:- Mumbai

We have an opportunity with one of our well know client based out of Mumbai , where in they are looking out for candidates with exposure to Insurance/Re- insurance domain and with experience of working on Catastrophe Modeling.

Requirement :

Ø  Exposure analysis and comparison for data provided for reinsurance  treaty pricing.

Ø  Identify data issues; highlight them and consequences to underwriters to ensure unbiased risk assessment.

Ø  Actively understand the underwriting process at the front end and update deliverables and process accordingly.

Required profile :

Ø  Scientific and economical curiosity, combined with strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Ø  An advanced degree in a natural science or (structural) engineering discipline, ideally with superior knowledge in at least one of the main hazards listed above.

Ø  Experience in probabilistic natural hazards modeling and property insurance is a plus.

Ø  Ability and interest to support our underwriting units in analyzing property business cases

Associate - Investment Banking

We are currently supporting Associate requirements with a leading Investment Bank in Bangalore

 

Requirement:

An IBD Bangalore Associate should have:
- A keen, long‐term interest in investment banking
-
 An outstanding academic record. Chartered Accountant and/or MBA (Finance) and/or MS (Finance) from the Tier 1
  institutes
 
- Strong quantitative and technical abilities
- Investment Banking experience of 5 years out of which at least 1 year as a team lead

 

Role:

An IBD Bangalore Associate will be playing a dual role as a Banking senior as well as a team lead being involved in many
of the following activities:
  • Working on pitches and live situations while advising corporations on mergers and acquisitions and financing
    transactions
  • Tracking assigned clients/ sectors by monitoring street events, news flow, quarterly results, industry developments 
               - Updating senior members of the team on these developments. Discussing potential business opportunities /
                 pitching ideas

               - Leveraging knowledge of assigned clients and their businesses in running the client service books primarily with
                 help from analysts

Research Business Analyst - Options Research
 
The role is for a Business Analyst , Bangalore. The BA will be working closing with New York based Options Research team. The team publishes trade ideas for clients on single stock options and index options based on various catalyst driven, sectoral, macro and cross asset themes and various other systematic trading strategies using options. The team collaborates with equity research, portfolio strategy and economics research analysts to combine fundamental views with volatility views.
 
Specific Skills:
-          Quantitative background (Engineering/Statistics/Econometrics/Computer Science) and with strong finance basics. Knowledge of derivatives will be a plus.

-          Programming experience (C++ or any other language). Familiarity with SAS, R or Matlab.

-          Knowledge of MS Excel is a must.

-          Familiarity with Bloomberg or other external data sources.

-          Exposure to equity markets.

 
General Skills:
-          Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

-          Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

-          Exceptional analytical skills, lateral thinking, and judgment.

-          Ability to work in a dynamic global environment with a focus on teamwork.

Job Description:

The role is part of the CEO’s office. This role will include varied set of responsibilities across HR, Training, Online Initiatives, Business support. Additional responsibilities can be added depending on candidate’s strengths and interest areas. The right candidate will have great analytical and problem solving skills, Will be entrepreneurially inclined, a team player with good communications skills. This role will be great training ground for anyone looking to become an entrepreneur in future. A brief snapshot of responsibilities is as follows.


Business Support :-

New Process Design â€" Identify gaps and design new processes to improved productivity of the organisation.

Process and workflow audit â€" Do regular audits on defined process to identify deviations and suggest solutions.

Database /Knowledge management system â€" Altor collects a lot of information on regular basis and needs to have a system to utilize it better for improved intelligence and efficiencies. The role would require the incumbent to own the initiative of identifying, buying and implementing software from the market.

Client management â€" Incumbent will work closely with the CEO to manage and build relationships with the key clients of the organisation. These clients will typically be CEO /MDs /Directors /Function heads /Business heads of India’s largest Banks or Financial Institutions. The incumbent will run programs to strengthen these relationships.


Online/ Technology Initiatives : -

Online - Job Portal /Referrals Portal â€" Altor will launch a new age job portal with some of the most innovative features. Incumbent will work as the product manager for this portal and work closely with the technology vendor to develop, launch and promote the portal. The eventual goal is to build a large online community on the portal in next one year.

Online Community Management â€" Conceptualise and run online campaigns for the Altor Brand and the portal. Extensively use Facebook/ LinkedIn/ Twitter / Blogs to build the Altor brand in a cost efficient way.


HR Responsibilities : -

Joining/Exit Formalities- Ensure all the joining and exit formalities are completed for Altor employees within the stipulated time.

Training- Responsible for scheduling the training sessions and manage training calendar for existing employees and the new joiners.

Performance Appraisal/PMS- Own the Performance Management System of all the employees for their appraisals.

Leave Management- Maintain tracker to keep an eye on the leaves taken by employees and help in payroll management.

Internal hiring- Will be responsible for building the internal team of Altor through active hiring of consultants.

Other responsibilities will be added to this role on a regular basis. Most of these responsibilities will be strategic in nature to the organisation.
