Senior Analyst/Team Lead – Business and Economic Research

Job Title : Senior Analyst/Team Lead – Business and Economic Research - Karvy Global - KPO
Role Summary
The position calls for an individual with a focus on building a career in developing insightful financial/business/economic research. The individual will need to have proven domain expertise in writing research notes, white papers and macroeconomic studies. The role will need the Team lead to grow and work with a cross cultural team in developing a series of project reports. The role will also call for discussions with industry analysts, conduct conference calls with subject matter experts and showcase strong research capabilities while instilling a culture of developing thought provoking research within the team. The individual will need to work closely with Karvy Global's top management in developing research/delivery capabilities aligned with the needs of our global clients. There will be ample opportunity to support strategic initiatives at the company and work towards identifying new revenue areas in collaboration with the sales team.

Experience
5-8 years of experience in business and economic research – coverage and detailed reports on industries, sectors, regions, companies and thematic articles
Must have a flair for numbers and related analysis. Strong ability on Excel is a must.
Experience in research across varied engagements in multiple industries and sectors in the Middle East will be an advantage.
Ability to showcase samples of past work and references is a required qualifier.
Proven experience in leading client discussions and internal team development
Experience with using information services like Bloomberg, Thomson-Reuters, Capital IQ
Stellar communication skills and ability to present ideas in an impactful way

Eligibility
MBA/MS from a Tier 1/2 b-school with a consistent academic record. Master/PhD in Economics with relevant research experience can also apply.Demonstrable writing skills and references. Willingness to work with a growing company with a start-up culture

Job Description
Core subject matter expertise
Clear thinker with an independent mind and the ability to draw logical conclusions based on sound business reasoning and insight
Ability to synthesize financial, operational and economic information into a well-integrated end-to-end research piece covering an industry or a company that showcases a definitive point-of-view
Understanding and working knowledge of financial modeling and Valuation (DCF, relative valuation, comparable company analysis, M&A modeling)
Build and institutionalize best practices/models/templates geared towards providing cutting edge research at par with the best in the world
Provide support to sales and marketing team on qualifying opportunities with detailed intelligence and research collateral
Drive insightful articles around current themes that establish the organization's thought leadership in the research space.

Project management
Scope definition and effort estimation for research projects. Ability to handle conflicts and resolving team level issues. Ability to balance delegation and ownership of research in a team environment and ensure research coherence across multiple analysts. Client relationship management skills focused towards growing the account. Ability to identify parallel opportunities that the company can target from a sales standpoint
